Saturday: The start of week 5 for me.... Started pretty much the same as it does in J&G's estate.... Coffee by the pool:
Then George took us off-road [very dangerous on a Harley cruiser] to an old 49ers gold rush town.
Then it was nearly six more hours back to Murphys up, over and through the mountains.
To get an idea of how dangerous it was, as we were weaving our way up and down the mountains, I looked at my GPS to see the turns in the road.... Suffice to say, it looked like someone had dropped a limp spaghetti on the ground. So many turns and sharp switch-backs... with no room for error because if you did make an error... you would plunge off the side of the mountain.
The only error made took place at a gas station... Ace stopped and put his foot down to realize it was 6 inches lower than the driveway... The bike and Ace toppled over... Lucky there was enough men around to get the bike back on its wheels.
All-in-all... had a great ride!
Tomorrow... Fathers Day!
Life is Good!

Ace enjoying a cuppa-java
George on his BMW leaving for a ride in the mountains
Headed for Ebbitts Pass
Ace on the Harley preparing to do the same
Climbing the mountain... getting colder by the minute
Beautiful vistas
Stopping to enjoy the views
Big Bear Ski hills ... Still enough snow to ski most runs
Had to stop and layer-up
Snow banks on both sides of the road.... Sometimes 12-15 feet high
Some lakes were still all frozen over... Remarkable
On the way to Sonora Pass... Another way through the mountains in the distance
Then George took us off-road [very dangerous on a Harley cruiser] to an old 49ers gold rush town.
Bodie.... A real blast from the past
People found millions of dollars of gold here and then just left the town behind
All the equipment is still here
Big Equipment!
Me posing... The main mine is behind me up and to the right
The church outside and in
Stores and houses just the way they left them
